(Benue Killings) 7 Suspected Fulani herdsmen killed in Gboko

According to eye witness, 7 Suspected Fulani herdsmen met a taxi driver in one of the villages in Benue state and asked him to take them to a garage where they will enter motor to taraba state.

The Taxi driver was afraid, he faked them and brought them to a garage in katsina-ala street in Gboko town. 

Immediately,he came out and informed people that the Fulani herdsmen in his vehicle are loaded with arms.

Before you could know, they brought them out and started beating them with sticks, axes, stones,rods etc All the 7 suspected Fulani herdsmen were killed (Some were burnt).

While the situation was going on somebody (Non Fulani) attempted to make a call and he shot on stomach,he only sustain injuries.

Police tried to intervene but Gboko boys chased them away and burnt them down .
Everybody got scared and Closed down Their shops (Market).

(Benue Killings) Governor Ortom Declares Dusk to Dawn Curfew on Gboko.(By Hamza Hashimu)

Governor Samuel Ortom imposes a Dusk to Dawn Curfew in Gboko Local government area of benue state from today Wednesday 31st January until further notice.

Tahav Agerzua_Special Adviser, Media and ICT said the security threats in Gboko town led to the imposition of the curfew which will last from 6pm to 6am everyday.

Only those on important public services such as : P.H.C.N , Hospital staff etc are exempted from the curfew.

Further more, The Governor ordered security agencies specifically the Police and the army to provide round the clock surveillance  in the town so as to forestall peace and oder.

According to Tahav,Governor Ortom seeks the compliance of Gboko Residents to stay indoor during the time of the curfew hence anybody caught during the time will be arrested by the security agencies.

The herdsmen killed the farmer after he refused to allow their cattle graze on his farm, reports said.

Suspected Fulani herdsmen allegedly raped a middle-aged woman when they attacked Ovwor-Olomu in the Aniocha North and Ughelli South Local Government areas of Delta state on Sunday, January 21, 2018.

Three other persons, who were said to be on their way to work in the early hours of Sunday, were injured in the attack.
The rape victim was reportedly the only female among the victims attacked by the assailants.
They are all receiving treatment at the Ughelli Central Hospital, it was gathered.
"My husband was on his way to work at about 4am when the Fulani men attacked him with a machete. He sustained injuries on his head and ear, but was able to escape",the wife of one of the victims said.
It was gathered that the herdsmen also killed a farmer in a similar attack in the state last Friday, at Onicha-Olona area of the state.
Reports said the herdsmen shot the farmer dead after he refused to allow their cattle graze on his farm, which they later set ablaze.
The victim, who hails from Anambra State, had been living with members of his family in the Delta community because of his farming business, it was learnt.
A community source said,"He challenged the herdsmen and refused to allow them to graze on his farm. They brought out a gun and shot him at close range. He fell and died on the spot.
"As I speak to you, there is tension in our community. Nobody knows what will happen next. The man’s corpse has just been taken to the Olona Police Station."
Confirming the Onicha-Olona killing, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Andrew Aniamaka, said the command has launched a manhunt for the suspects.
Aniamaka, however, could not confirm the attack at Ovwor-Olomu in Ughelli South, saying he was unaware of the incident as at the time of filing this report.

Rabiu Ali 4/10 The 34-year-old was totally anonymous and it was a wonder he stayed until the end. He could not get the offense moving and was more of a cog.
Ifeanyi Ifeanyi 6/10 Better than against Rwanda and was unlucky to go off injured. Was his usual energetic self, covering the space between his defenders and the opposing forwards.
Osas Okoro 6.5/10 Provided the cross that led to the only goal but that was not his only contribution. He was very good against the danger man, Mohamed Aleyat.
Emmanuel Ogbuh 6/10 He provided some good crosses and seemed to have the measure of his marker. But just like the game against Rwanda, he faded in and out.
Anthony Okpotu 4/10 Was a bit more energetic than against Rwanda but still not potent or energetic enough to trouble the Libyan defenders. No positional play even though his supply was very dire.
Sunday Faleye 7.5/10 Too many slips in the first half restricted the former 3SC forward from causing damage but he was much better in the second half and then was on hand to give the Eagles the needed victory.

Years ago, Phenom broke into the Nigerian entertainment scene with his unique rap style and everyone fell in love with him. Although he was signed on to the defunct Knight House record label, that did not stop other record label owners like Wizkid, Olamide and MI to try to sign the young lad.
Sadly, years down the line, nothing has been heard of the young man, who told Saturday Beats that he quit music after his contract expired. He admitted that he probably would have been one of the most sought-after rap artistes if he had accepted some of those offers, but added that he had no regrets for being loyal to his previous record label.
He said, “When Wizkid told me about signing me to his record label, Starboy, I was with a record label then, Knight House. I think loyalty is very key and I cannot leave where I am because of greener pastures. It does not work like that. It is just like a marriage; just because you see a finer lady tomorrow does not mean that you should abandon your wife.
“There is enough space in the sky for all birds to fly. That Wizkid is doing very well now does not mean that I would not succeed in my career. There is no competition between us. Being on Wizkid record label would have been a great platform for me but what is mine would get to me.
“I have no regrets not signing with Wizkid. I had a contract with Knight House; I made sure that I fulfilled my obligation despite how tough things were there. Mo’Cheddah was with them as well but she left at a point. It was really tough for me from the beginning of my contract till when it ended because I was on my own.
“There were no videos for our hit songs because there was no fund. I had several record labels that approached me and at a point, I had a deal worth over N100m, but I turned it down. While growing up, my mother always told me that loyalty was important in life. It was not only Wizkid that wanted me on his record label; Olamide’s record also. There were a lot of deals that I turned down; not because I did not want to seek greener pastures, but loyalty meant a lot to me. My decision affected my career adversely, but I am sure that in the long run, it would pay off and I would not regret it. I am not hungry; I am not moved by material things. I am very happy for Olamide and Wizkid, but at the end of the day, it only takes one song for someone to be big again. I just need to be more hard-working.”
Now signed on to Trick Billionaire MusiQ, the rap artiste said that he would give other rappers a run for their money.
“At a point, I quit music but the owner of this record label, Prince Usinefe, has always been a friend. I only told him about an investment and he approached me with a recording deal.
“He insisted that I join his record label and I eventually agreed. The record label used to be known as Kash Kamp Trick Billionaire MusiQ but it has rebranded and changed its name to Trick Billionaire MusiQ. This change and rebranding came weeks after we parted ways with Yung6ix,” he said.
Phenom, a young Nigerian hip-hop artist, who was born to a banker father and a policewoman, fell in love with rap music when he was 12 years old. He now joins other acts on the label that include Percy, LK Kuddy, She Officiall, B Raiz and Sean Dennis.

INEC begins village to village issuance of PVCs in Zamfara
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced village to village issuance of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) in Zamfara state in its effort to ensure that all eligible voters get their cards before the 2019 general elections.
The state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Asmau Maikudi made the disclosure at a press briefing in Gusau on Wednesday.
She said that the distribution of the cards was merged with another innovation introduced by the commission which is the mobile capture of the voters through moving from one community to another.
According to her, the commission has listened to earlier requests by political parties and community leaders on the need for more registration machines which led to the provision of 16 additional data capture machines.
Maikudi said that the addition brought the total number of the machines in the state to 30 which enhanced voters’ registration in all the 14 local government areas.
She, however lamented that eligible voters had not been coming forward to get themselves registered.
Maikudi noted that only 72,000 persons had so far been registered in the state since the continuous voter registration exercise started in the last nine months.
She, therefore, appealed to political parties and community leaders to continue to enlighten members of the general public to avail themselves of the opportunity to register.
She explained that this would make them to obtain their permanent voters cards which would enable them to vote for people of their choices in the coming elections. (NAN)

Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, and prominent Benue leaders turned down President Muhammadu Buhari's plan to create cattle colonies in the state during a stakeholders meeting on Monday, January 15, 2018.

In a meeting that took place at the Presidential Villa, the delegation led by the governor rejected the Federal Government's request to spare 10,000 hectares for cattle colonies in a bid to put an end to the incessant clashes between roaming cattle breeders and local farming communities.
Coming on the heels of the attacks orchestrated by herdsmen that have left 73 dead in the state, Governor Ortom told State House correspondents that the delegation did not entertain the request as it has no land to spare.
He said, "In Benue, we don’t have ten hectares for colonies, other states may have, but we don’t have in Benue State."
The governor, who's always opposed the plan, said that the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Audu Ogbeh, who is proposing the idea, explained that the cattle colonies are a combination of several ranches.
The governor further said that President Buhari reiterated his commitment to ensuring that the perpetrators of the recent killings in the state are arrested and prosecuted.

The track is a mix of both Hausa and English, which translates to their competition running away every time they put out a song. The lyrical strength and skill of both artist is very well portrayed.
